8th Oct - Norman records, famous for being one of the most honest critics on the world wide web gives his take on the new Sennen single and proclaims it the strongest single i've heard in ages....

"They make an accomplished racket. A fine blend of post rock, shoegazing and pop chucked into a filthy music barrel to make a cracking tune. To me it sounds like a cross between Loop and Moose... 2 olde bands from the late 80's but that's what I reckon it sounds like. It's actually a really strong tune and amidst the sea of crap indie singles week in and week out this is one of the strongest I've heard in ages!"

05th Oct - Drowned In Sound review the new Sennen single 'Blackout' and give it a big thumbs up:

"With the guitars turned up to the limit and a melody that gives TV On The Radio's 'Wolf Like Me' a run for its money, this isn't just a return to form. It heralds a new beginning for Sennen, and should finally see them make their mark in wider circles; not before time, too.

The vocal harmonies between Laurence Holmes and Richard Kelleway still spread goose pimples up the spine, while the nagging, feedback-drenched riff that guides 'Blackout' from start to end should eliminate their name from any discussions of tweeness for the foreseeable future.

On the reverse side, 'A Different Life' is more of a mellow comedown compared to its sister track, the perfect accompaniment to the five minutes of sonic mayhem exercised within 'Blackout'.

It's good to have Sennen back, and in such a seemingly unstoppable vein too. Blissful."

3rd Oct - The-Mag review the new Sennen single and love it. They state:

"Released on October 8th, 'Blackout' will follow Sennen's supporting role on the October leg of the iLiKETRAiNS UK tour.

It's a sonically experimental song, with indie vocals splashed across an edgy guitar track with scuzzy early-Cure wildness and fat-fuzz bass. When it really gets going, it sounds quite a bit like Kasabian.

After a massive intro, 'A Different Life' strips away all noise to massive effect in a Klaxons style track. I'm on the verge of declaring this the best song, it's just that 'Blackout' is terribly good too.

Judging by this single, the iLiKETRAiNS support is well deserved and it has certainly build up some anticipation for their forthcoming album, Where The Light Gets In"

29th Sept - Drowned In Sound review The Walk Off's performance on the main stage at Truck 10 and state:

"The Walk Off and their violent noise electroclash make for an appropriate festival-wide alarm clock, sounding like a toss-and-turn battle between a blood-curdling nightmare of horror film proportions and a pesky BBC playlist during the apocalypse, complete with the teddy bear. The brutally sharp, consistent guitar and fuming vocals make the snippets of what sounds like Britney Spears and Prince samples simply delicious. "

26th Sept - Recordstore.co.uk have an exclusive offer of the new Sennen single featuring 3 formats inc 2 downloads + free badge for £4.

The offer includes a signed 7" single of Blackout, digital download of the single, a badge and an exclusive track.

30th June - Currently in the studio recording their debut album, The Walk Off head off on a mini tour next month.

29th May - Mixmag the magazine for party animals and lovers of repetitve beats give The Walk Off a big thumbs up with a review of their Vader Fader single:

Fiercely mentalist junglist thrash off.

You think you've heard rock n' rave? you ain't heard nothing til you've seen what this Oxford/Coventry/Bristol band (slogan: "stick your glowsticks up your arse, punks") can do with razor-sharp d'n'b, nasty thrash riffs, and Monsieur Blake's inhuman screeched vocals. 'Vader Fader' is the nastiest, while 'Kick' makes more of the d'n'b bass, but both are deeply danceable and certifiably mental.

4/5

16th May - Looks like someone is enjoying the new Sennen album.

It'll be in the shops September 24th.

8th May - Losing Today.com review the new single by Sennen. They state:

"This two song single shows great improvement over 2005's "Windows" LP (eh?? don't you mean 'Widows'?). The opening title song overcomes some very rough production (was anyone in the studio paying attention to the drum sound?) to find the band shedding some of their previous post-rock tendencies for a more direct and visceral approach that sounds somewhat like early Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. The flipside, "All These Dreams Of You", is even better - a summer slice of shimmering indie-pop which indicates that these UK boys have probably got a pretty good collection of Spacemen 3/Spiritualized cd's at home. A solid step in the right direction.
DAVID MANSDORF
